Economic Week in Review


The consumer price index rose 0.2% in October following two straight months of declines.  The drag in consumer prices eased last month as energy costs rose 0.3% after two months of steep declines. Housing starts tumbled 11% in October, but the total of  U.S. permits continues to trend higher overall and are up slightly from the current pace of starts, suggesting some near term gains in the pace of homebuilding over the next couple of months.  Jobless claims fell and overall October was a stellar month for job gains and this report and other data continue to show strength and continued tightening in the labor market … [Read Full Week in Review Here]
